Onyx Data announces general availability of FabOps™ as a Microsoft Fabric workload

Governance, monitoring and cost visibility for Microsoft Fabric estates, running inside the customer’s own tenant 

London, United Kingdom — 29 September 2026 — Onyx Data, a Microsoft Fabric Featured Partner and Microsoft Solutions Partner for Data & AI, today announced the general availability of FabOps™ Intelligence as a  Microsoft Fabric workload. 

FabOps™ gives platform teams a single operational view of their Microsoft Fabric estate including what is running, whether it is healthy, who has access to it, and what it is costing. Available from the Workloads tab in Microsoft Fabric, it installs directly into the customer’s own tenant and runs alongside the data it observes. 

As organisations move more of their analytics onto Microsoft Fabric, the operational surface grows with them. Workspaces multiply across business units, pipelines and semantic models accumulate owners, capacity consumption becomes harder to attribute, and access grows organically rather than by design. FabOps™ is built to make that estate visible and measurable as it scales. 

General availability as a Fabric workload is the significant part of today’s announcement. Because FabOps™ runs inside the customer’s Fabric tenant, telemetry about the estate does not leave it. For organisations whose security teams restrict third-party applications that require data to be moved outside their environment, this removes a common barrier to adopting governance tooling at all.

FabOps™ provides continuous governance scoring across the estate, monitoring of data refreshes and pipeline health with alerting by exception, visibility of capacity consumption and its drivers, and monitoring of user access across workspaces. It is designed to be installed and returning results the same day, without a professional services engagement to get started.
