In this session our host Leon Gordon will be introducing Microsoft’s Christian Wade. This session discusses the ALM Toolkit, which is a schema compare tool for Power BI datasets, used for application lifecycle management (ALM) scenarios.

We will also discuss how Power BI is growing to be a superset of Azure Analysis Services enabling a path for Analysis Services workloads in Power BI. This makes it easy to migrate Analysis Services models to leverage next-generation capabilities in Power BI.

This taps into Microsoft’s deep heritage in enterprise BI, and paves the way for customers to co-locate BI artifacts, modernize BI solutions, and leverage the full power of Analysis Services in Power BI. Christian is program management lead in the Power BI engineering group, Christian is responsible for enterprise modeling features across Microsoft’s BI product portfolio including Power BI, Azure Analysis Services and SQL Server Analysis Services.

Christian is a regular keynote speaker at large Power BI conferences and coined the term “clicky clicky draggy droppy” data analysis. Creator of the ALM Toolkit based on BISM Normalizer, a diff & merge tool for Analysis Services tabular models.
